Access Version

by msecadm4921

Bewator reports that its Entro access control system has evolved further with the release of Version 5.3.

The company says it now facilitates access control integration with the Siemens Building Technologies Sistore digital video recording (DVR) range. Security functions, such as support for multiple DVRs and cameras, automatically recording images of failed access attempts, can be implemented, the makers add. Also upgraded is the Entro reservation system. Based on a web-server option, it plugs into Entro Segment Controllers and allows them to be used, via an internet connection, for pre-booking time in a meeting room, in a sports facility or even on a machine in a factory. Now billing support is offered, so that it can be used to assist in charging for access to specific facilities or items of equipment.

Other new features provided by Entro 5.3 include an option to automatically disable access tags and cards that have not been used for a set period, and enhancements to the presentation of data when Entro is used in conjunction with a PC. Doors and other objects can now, for example, be grouped on the screen by building, block, floor, or almost any other criterion. The new DVR integration offered by Entro 5.3 provides full compatibility with DVRs in the AX, MX and CX Sistore ranges from Siemens Building Technologies. The DVRs can either be connected directly to the Entro Segment Controllers, which means that no additional servers are needed, or they can be linked via an IP network to provide maximum versatility, especially in larger installations.

DVRs can be configured so that recording is automatically triggered by an Entro event, such as the use of an access token or a keypad. Users can activate recording from supervisory PCs within the Entro system. Live CCTV images from any camera can be viewed by clicking the appropriate icon on the PC screen. To help users make best use of stored images, video search and playback facilities are linked to the Entro event log. Version 5.3 is compatible with existing Entro 5 hardware, and users wishing to upgrade can do so by installing the new firmware.
