Miller Homes built a village-style complex of 30 luxury apartments set in 4.2 acres in Jesmond, Newcastle. Swift Fire and Security Northern installed the security system. That included an Aiphone colour video entry system on the main door of each building and at the entrance gates to the ?village?. Rob Waker, Engineering Manager at Swift says: ?There was nothing specified to start with. We evaluated two different manufacturers? products and decided to go with Aiphone. We?ve used it on other projects and never had a problem with it, the decision was easy to use it again.? Swift installed the Aiphone KC series of colour video entry system, which is modular and can be expanded to a 32-way system. The colour cameras have pan and tilt movement controlled by the internal monitor, while each apartment has been fitted with the KC1GRD monitor handset, which can have two slave handsets added in other rooms in the apartment if required. The slave units can be used as intercoms between rooms.
