Retail Decisions, the supplier of payment card fraud prevention services, has gained the business of video giant Blockbuster UK.

Retail Decisions, the supplier of payment card fraud prevention and value added transaction services, has gained the business of video giant Blockbuster UK. Blockbuster Entertainment has now moved into a new venture of unattended vending machines where members may choose from any number of current titles and pay using a credit or debit card, 24 hours a day. After a successful trial of Retail Decisions card fraud screening services, the system is now being rolled out to all 81 remote vending sites, which offers a solution in managing the risks such as non-return and fraud incurred. Blockbuster is now able to eliminate its bad customers and reward those that are loyal. Martin Jordan, UK vending manager of Blockbuster UK said: ?Vending machines now allow our customers even greater flexibility in choosing what entertainment they want, at a time to suit them. Having an unattended operation has improved the service we offer, but it also carries an element of payment risk. We recognised the need for specialist fraud protection and ReD’s services were ideally suited to our needs. We have successfully tested the system at selected machines around the country and are now rolling out the solution to all of our vending sites.? Nick Caunter, managing director of ReD, Europe added, “We have once more proven the versatility of our fraud prevention solutions and how our know-how can provide a solution to one of the country’s leading retailers. Unattended vending offers yet another opportunity for the unscrupulous criminal. With our solutions in place, Blockbuster is protecting its own interests and those of its customers.” Visit www.redplc.com.
