Cylon Pro is a Body Worn Video (BWV) system on the market designed for the police, emergency services, the armed forces and those involved in security such as traffic wardens and door staff. The bespoke compact mobile surveillance solution features data capture, storage, management and retrieval systems.
Jon Jepson, Founder Director of Nottingham-based Cylon Global Solutions, said: “There’s no doubt CCTV cameras are an integral part of today’s society in helping to catch and convict offenders. Ultimately, this has led to the rise of BWV, which is becoming more widely adopted and used as a tool for crime fighting and evidence gathering.
“Our latest product – the Cylon Pro – takes BWV systems on to the next level. In fact, we believe that it could be the biggest revolution for the police force since fingerprinting was introduced. Both rugged and extremely lightweight in design, it has a solid state internal memory where it can record for up to 40 hours and features a removable SD card, high resolution video and 3.5in colour LCD screen monitor.”
The Cylon Pro uses an low light camera based on the latest Sony one-third inch CCD chip to provide performance in dark conditions. To complement this, it is secured in a specially designed housing. The camera is mounted on a headset so that it can be comfortably worn in a variety of positions that suits the user.
The standard battery provides up to 15 hours standby, and up to five hours continuous recording. Other features include a user log-in and admin control. The Cylon Pro Mobile Digital Video Recorder (MDVR) allows video downloads and battery changes. The system’s remote switch provides a quick start button for recording and a protected control to prevent accidental operation of the stop button.
