On Saturday, February 23, the Company of Security Professionals (CoSP) seeks to raise £10,000 for its charity.
Could you help by donating a prize or pledge for an evening raffle, or auction? Co-ordinating the raffle is Geoffrey Northcott [email protected] who would welcome any assistance.
Among the sporting and musical auction offerings so far: The Who disc and album cover of Tommy (1969) signed by the four members of the group; and the four Beatles, from 1966. Some 26 signatures are on a picture titled ‘legends of Old Trafford’; and there is and a shirt signed by the Arsenal FC 2006-7 squad.
Each year CoSP raises enough money to sponsor a hackney carriage Disney trip for terminally ill children. This year CoSP is funding two taxicabs. Already secured is £3,000, from a CoSP member, so CoSP will again be paying for overnight accommodation for six families who otherwise would be forced to travel through the night, not a good start to a weekend for the children. You can help. If you cannot be there on the night, organisers ask you to pledge to buy some raffle tickets. Contact [email protected].
You may not be able to attend the evening, but you can place a reserve bid on any item by emailing [email protected]. He suggests that the autographs of the Beatles alone would be valued at £20,000-plus if sold individually, so this is a very exclusive auction item, which has a reserve of £7,000. Each exclusive item has a certificate of authenticity.
