Nine months into its ‘Charity of the Year’ programme, ISS Facility Services (ISS) has decided to extend their relationship with the British Heart Foundation (BHF) for another year, taking the arrangement to the end of 2011.
To date in 2010 ISS has raised over £40,000 for the heart charity through fundraising bike rides, runs, walks, dress down days and donations to BHF shops.
ISS Chief Executive, Henrik Andersen said: “We’ve done some great things together to fundraise during 2010. The relationship is now starting to build some real momentum. I am especially proud that ISS staff raised over £20,000 from the London to Brighton bike ride and the excellent Health and Wellbeing information we are able to provide to all our employees.”
As part of the ISS focus on health and wellbeing, they will continue to work with the BHF to raise awareness of heart disease to their staff through health initiatives, BHF publications and promotion of BHF campaigns. Peter Hollins, Chief Executive at the BHF said: “I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to everyone at ISS who has helped to raise over £40,000 for the BHF in less than nine months.
“We are also thrilled that ISS has decided to extend the charity of the year partnership with the BHF and we are extremely grateful to have their support until the end of 2011.
“With the continued support of over 40,000 employees, we are confident that we can raise even more vital funds towards pioneering research and in return empower ISS staff to take those all important steps to improving their lifestyle.”
Steve Workman, Head of Corporate Responsibility at ISS says; “Heart disease is something that touches all families in one way or another, so we’ve all got an interest in this important charity. The second year extension will mean that we can continue a programme of exciting fundraising activities for the whole of 2011. In addition we will be providing information to employees to raise their awareness of the causes of heart problems and what we can all do in terms of diet and exercise to help protect ourselves against heart disease.”
