A convenience store on Rockingham Road, Corby has had their premises licence suspended for two months after a licensing panel hearing held in March.
The Londis store had failed two test purchases operations conducted by both Trading Standards and Northamptonshire Police.
The panel decided that the premises licence holder for the Londis store on Rockingham Road should also complete further training for the designated premises supervisor and for the Challenge 25 scheme to be adopted and adhered to. Other conditions include CCTV to be in place and maintained, a refusals register to be kept and made available on request, and staff training to be carried out and documented accordingly.
This is the second business in Corby, to have its licence to sell alcohol, suspended in two months.
Pc Kevin Murphy Licensing Officer for Northamptonshire Police said “Teenagers drinking alcohol is a real issue for residents in the area and this decision by the licensing panel sends a clear message that illegal sales of alcohol to young people will not be tolerated in Corby.”
