Business continuity and disaster recovery in the financial services sector is the title of a City and Financial conference, in London SW1.
The two-day sixth annual event runs on January 31 and February 1, at One Whitehall Place.
Day one opens with an address by Brice Mann, head of the Civil Contingencies Secretariat. Day two speakers include Victor Meyer, Managing Director, head of corporate security and business continuity at Deutsche Bank. Mr Meyer, a former US Navy man, joined the bank in 2004.
Among the invited speakers are Andy Trotter, British Transport Police Deputy Chief Constable; and Eileen Abbess, head of risk at Network Rail, on transport; and Dr Sandra Bell, director of the homeland security and resilience department at the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI). Andrew McCrackan, director EMEA business continuity management practice at IT firm Symantec, will discuss outsourced data souring provision. Covering the insurance angle will be Jayne Milne of the Association of British Insurers. And Vicki Gavin, head of business continuity at Barclaycard, will close by looking at establishing recovery facilities.
