ASIS UK has been approved as an ‘associated partner’ of the SSEDIC Thematic Network for Universal eID, a project supported by the CIP – ICT Policy Support Programme of the European Commission. SSECIC stands for Scoping the Single European Digital Identity Community.
The UK Chapter is leading the way for ASIS in Europe. Its involvement was led by Convergence Lead James Willison and Vice Chairman—Strategy, Mike Hurst.
As associated partner ASIS have the possibility and the opportunity to participate the consultation actions SSEDIC will lead the coming three years (up to November 2013), to help the European Commission defining and realising the ‘digital agenda’. What is it? Briefly, to prepare the agenda for a proposed Single European Digital Identity Community;described as the next, logical step from the single market. The network is to discuss the topic, in an online workspace and online conferences and real events.
