CCTV product firm Bosch has applied new infrared LED technology to its Extreme Series IR Imager range. The manufacturer says it’s dramatically improved the camera night-time performance for covert surveillance.
Bosch’s EX30, EX80 and EX82 IR Imagers combine optics and integrated infrared LED illumination to deliver the makers say image quality day and night. Integrated into a single, compact IP67 rated housing even in it is claimed the harshest of surveillance conditions, the Extreme Series IR Imagers are designed the company adds for quick and easy installation.
This same technology has been applied to the recently launched Extreme IP Series of cameras which combines the low light performance of the IR Imager cameras, with a Bosch IP encoder to deliver IP enabled surveillance during the day and in darkness at night.
The covert 940nm versions of both these camera ranges will be supplied with new infrared LEDs which can extend their achievable surveillance range by as much as 60 per cent, it is claimed, enabling longer range recognition level night-time images. Applications according to the firm include those which demand covert surveillance at night, like railways and road safety.
This is according to the firm another significant product improvement hastened by Bosch’s 2008 acquisition of the Extreme CCTV Group. This allows Bosch to expand its CCTV products.
