Fifth Shortlist

by msecadm4921

After smarti Electra won the IFSEC 2009 award in the access control category the Slovenian manufacturers were pleasantly surprised to find that smarti Guardeon is one of the six finalists at the IFSEC awards this year. This makes the fifth year in a row that the smarti family of products has been short listed as one of the best new access control products.

TAB Systems Inc. is planning the official worldwide launch of a new biometric unit for access control, time & attendance and building automation called smarti Guardeon at IFSEC 2010. The new unit combines multimodal biometric access control based on facial and voice recognition with MIFARE, RFID, slim design, low power consumption and a myriad of other features that makes it an easy choice for user across a wide range of categories.

Guardeon combines the integrated proximity card reader which people are used to, with multi-modal biometric face and voice recognition providing higher security and inhibiting system abuse. Integrated are multiple additional features (complete time and attendance, building automation, video intercom, video & IP phone, video messaging and video surveillance system) into one compact device for a reasonable price. smarti is protocol independent and can therefore be used to control almost any kind of electronic device (sensors, electronic locks, lights, alarm systems, finger print scanners).

smarti Guardeon is meant for indoor and outdoor use, and is in-wall or on-wall mountable. The unit is fan-less for quiet operation and has an IP65 compliant aluminium front casing. The unit was designed to have low power consumption and a slim profile. It is equipped with an eight-inch industrial grade sun readable colour LCD display and a resistant touch screen, integrated RFID & MIFARE reader, motion detector, microphone, speakers, Intel Atom processor, solid state disk drive, 1 GB memory and gigabit Ethernet. The built-in adjustable IR CCD camera and 12 IR LED lights provides identification in all lighting conditions. Integrated communication ports and relay I/O controller can be used to control lights, electronic locks, alarms and sensors.
