In Hertfordshire, Crimes Against Business 2007 is a seminar, exhibition and networking opportunity to bring together policy makers, practitioners, influencers and business owners/managers.
It runs on October 10 at the Tewin Bury Farm Hotel near Welwyn Garden City. <br><br>Organisers at the Welwyn-based business publication Hertfordshire Business Independent point out that according to a recent report published by the Federation of Small Businesses, 57pc of small business owners found themselves the victims of crime – spanning all its forms – over a 12 month period between 2005-06. <br><br>TAccording to the organisers, the event consists of four elements:<br><br>1 A seminar – where delegates will be able to hear speeches on urban and rural business crime issues;<br><br>. An exhibition of around 14 companies who are able to offer advice, solutions, support, prevention, etc. to delegates;<br><br>3. A supplement that will be circulated to the publication’s 10,000 regular readers throughout the county (and free to those exhibiting or attending); and <br><br>4 Three networking opportunities over pre-registration breakfast, lunch and post-event hot buffet.<br><br>Invited speakers are diverse, say organisers: Stephen Devine, Assistant Chief Constable of Hertfordshire Police; Peter Lilley MP (a former Conservative Secretary of State for Trade and Industry); Mike Schuck (Action Against Business Crime, affiliated to the British Retail Consortium) and others.<br><br>Tickets (providing entry to the exhibition and seminar – as well as the three networking opportunities over breakfast, lunch and early evening buffet) are £120 (plus VAT).
