Hooligan Punishment

by msecadm4921

An example of how football hooliganism affects not only stadia but related places like pubs and transport links.

A football hooligan already banned from attending local football matches has now been handed an additional three-year punishment.

Dale Campbell, from Sneinton, was arrested after threatening a police officer with violence at Nottingham Train Station, following the Nottingham Forest game against local rivals Derby County on Saturday, September 27, 2003.

Campbell, who was already banned until May 2005 from a previous court order, received the additional ban at Nottingham Magistrates Court. He was also ordered to pay £150 costs and carry out 60 hours community punishment.

The additional ban prevents the 42-year-old from travelling on trains during match times, and entering specific exclusion zones around Nottingham Forest Football Club, Notts County Football Club and Mansfield Town Football Club. He must also surrender his passport prior to international football matches and is required to inform the Football Banning Orders Authority and Police and Clubs Together (against Violence), also known as PACT, of any change to his address.

Insp Greg Drozdowski, from PACT, said: “Despite being on an existing football banning order, Mr Cambell continued to be involved in football violence and disorder. Notts Police will continue to pursue football hooligans and get them banned from our grounds to improve the spectating event for the genuine supporter, and to allow the general public to go about their daily business unhindered.”
