Installer Acquires

by msecadm4921

Contract Fire Security (CFS), the national provider of fire and security services nationwide, has acquired Sector Guard, a southern based security company that was part of the Legion Group plc.

The purchase provides CFS with 2,700 contracts for CCTV and intruder services that will be serviced across the UK from its Bagshot office.

This latest acquisition is the fourth the company has made within 18 months to expand its portfolio. As CFS approaches its 25th birthday, the company that reports consistently growth over 14 per cent annually, is aiming to reach a £25 million turnover in its milestone year.

Brothers and Joint Managing Directors are Steven and Gary Quirke, who established CFS in 1985. Steven Quirke said: “When we acquired B&P Security Services last September, our ambition was to harness the specialist technical expertise and widen our customer base. By increasing the density of clients, our engineers can focus on tighter geographical areas, which allows more time to service customers.”

Gary Quirke added: “We have developed CFS by focusing on shaping the company around leading edge solutions to meet our customers’ requirements. Our passion to provide the highest quality service and the right solutions is reflected in our blue chip customer base which includes high street retailers such as Sainsbury’s, Asda, Boots, House of Fraser and major contracts for National Grid and Fitness First. Coupled with our organic growth, we have been able to realise a number of outstanding opportunities to acquire business that dovetails into our existing operation. The Sector Guard acquisition is a prime example.” CFS is based in Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands with further offices in Bagshot, Surrey and Worthing, Essex.

The disposal by Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire-based Legion Group plc was equally to do with strategy. Mark Higgins, Chief Executive Officer of the Legion Group says: “With a £70m turnover and the core of our business offering man guard services, we wanted to consolidate and focus our energies on our leading speciality. I was impressed with how CFS operates and am confident they will continue to service the client base effectively. The transaction will hopefully be the start of a reciprocal relationship between us with referrals exchanged for the specialist services.”
