Scanna MSC, UK manufacturers of postroom security scanning equipment are launching their volume mail and parcel x-ray scanner on stand B3 at TechSec.
AstroScan conveyor x-ray scanners are for busy mailrooms that need to check bulk mail and larger parcels, the firm says. They include organic material recognition features, colour enhancements, and atomic number reading (for explosives detection). The units also incorporate an automatic image archive system that keeps a record of every item passed through the machine along with the operator name, time and date of scanning. This feature is for record keeping, operator monitoring and for refresher training. Scanna are also demonstrating smaller cabinet x-ray postal scanners and automatic mailscanning units and its SCANTRAK portable x-ray scanner for mobile scanning of suspicious bags or parcels.
