On The Cards

In the US, Indala Corporation entered into agreement with four major contact smart chip module manufacturers to participate in its FlexSmart Pilot Program, which enables Indala customers to purchase FlexSmart multi-technology (proximity and contact smart chip) cards in small quantities. Indala’s key alliances with Axalto (formerly Schlumberger); Datakey; Gemplus; and Giesecke and Devrient enable the Company to ship approved FlexSmart card orders in five days or less.

Traditionally, due to their manufacturing complexity, smart and multi-technology cards that provide functions such as physical and logical access control, cashless vending, and time and attendance required a considerable amount of time to manufacture. But with the FlexSmart Pilot Program, Indala has leveraged its vendor relationships to gain access to a wide variety of inventory sources for faster turnaround, the firm says.

What they say

"This is a huge win for integrators and corporate end users," said Marc Freundlich, president of Indala. "For the first time, customers have the flexibility to roll out new card technologies to improve productivity and security, save substantially on deployment, and get delivery in days instead of months."

Meanwhile, Indala has launched its new series of affordable MIFARE sector readers, which includes two models (wallswitch and mullion-mount), four attractive bezel styles, and several popular colors (black, white, beige, blue, and gray). The new readers are compatible with any MIFARE application and data format, which increases their flexibility. Plus, with their clip-on bezel design, the readers are literally a "snap" to install. As with all Indala products, the new MIFARE series is supported by Indala’s superior customer care, fast shipping, and a Lifetime Warranty.

"One of the great things about the Indala MIFARE reader is its flexibility. You can read the card serial number or, for higher security, any sector on the card you choose," stated Marc Freundlich, Indala president. "You can choose what keys/password protect the data inside. And you can select from any of the great Indala reader cover designs since they are all interchangeable. It’s just a great value by any measure," he added. And Indala Corporation has launched its FlexPass Heavy-Duty PinProx Keypad, which combines both a proximity reader and keypad in one package. Designed to mount on a wall box or a flat surface, the fully-potted, ruggedized metal keypad is weather and vandal-resistant, the firm says. Constructed of PC/ABS Copolymer material, the Heavy-Duty PinProx Keypad provides a longer life and, therefore, better value for the end users. The Indala Keypad Reader operates from 4-16V, and is available in beige and black.

"The new Heavy-Duty Keypad is a great solution when our customers need a tough, robust external keypad/reader," said Marc Freundlich, Indala president. "The Keypad can be mounted with confidence in harsh environments where reliability and durability are of paramount importance," he stated. The FlexPass Keypad reader can be field programmed using the FlexPass ProxSmith Programmer as well as configured to output data in either Wiegand or magnetic stripe formats.
