To counter threats to the critical national infrastructure, Perseus, the Guildford based security consultancy, has developed a risk analysis system, PIRAMS (Perseus Intelligent Risk Analysis Management System).
This methodology conducts an assessment of the threats facing a vulnerable site and then develops solutions to mitigate the risk.
Using a 360 degree, four point assessment method supported by software analysis techniques, Perseus can provide understanding of the inherent risks confronting a location, site or a facility, the firm says. The system has been designed to be holistic and to work in an inter-agency and multi-functional environment, the firm adds. It is suited, it is claimed, to complex facilities such as transport hubs where the effect of system performance, terrain and vulnerability have to be assessed, to produce an integrated, effective solution against terrorist and criminal threats.
Perseus (Global Security Technologies) Ltd is based in Guildford and has representatives in the USA and the Middle East. Among the previous projects in which the company’s founders have played principal roles were the planning and positioning of counter-terrorist anti-attack vehicle barriers to protect the Houses of Parliament, New Scotland Yard and other locations in central London.
