The total of SIA-approved contractors last month topped the 500 mark, the Security Industry Authority’s list reports.

The most recently approved include: in guarding, Corporate Facilities Services, of Southampton; Glenmount Security, of Stockton on Tees; Kenden Security, of Middlesbrough; Ocean Security Services of Romsey.

Approved in CCTV: Remploy, based in Chesterfield.

in door supervision, RISC Security of Wadebridge, Cornwall; and SOS Security Caledonian, of Glasgow.

in guarding, keyholding, door supervision, and cash and valuables in transit (CViT): Lion Security, of Crawley.

in guarding and keyholding, Cerberus Security and Monitoring Services of Leeds; Sector Security Services (Manchester) of Manchester; Security Management South West of Plymouth; and Senator Security South, of Southampton.

in guarding and door supervision, Gurkha Security Services of Farnborough; and Louis Alexander Security Solutions, of Aldridge, West Midlands.

And in security guarding, keyholding, door supervision and CCTV, Akita Security Services, of Bedford;

A couple of guarding companies have had approval withdrawn in June: Pro-Guard Protection of Milton Keynes; and Network Securities UK of Armley, Leeds.
