GE Interlogix Video Systems Group has launched its new combination digital video recorder/multiplexer
Based on the DVMRe Triplex platform, the DVMRe Simplex is suitable, the firm says, for unattended
facilities, especially vast networks of unmanned applications that must be monitored remotely. The DVMRe Simplex uses Parallel Video Process (PVP) to record up to 60 pictures a second. Images are archived in the system’s internal hard drive.

What they say

"The DVMRe Simplex offers a range of advanced search and alarm features," reports Darren Nicholson, GE Interlogix Video Systems Group vice president of marketing. "Users can search for movement in a target grid on recorded images over a specific time period. Disk analysis screens provide colour-coded representation of events, alarms, activities and video loss per camera. Users can focus on a specific window of time to expand their investigations."

Email notification

The DVMRe Simplex also offers email notification when an alarm in triggered. A message is sent to selected individuals’ email servers for distribution to their PCs, cell phones or pagers to notify them of the location and nature of the alarm. According to Nicholson, front panel controls are user-friendly and intuitive, combining the look and feel of a classic multiplexer and VCR controls. Record and playback functions actually emulate security VCRs. It also features WaveBrowser, GE Interlogix’ new integrated web interface that includes options for set up, upgrade and status information and a built-in web browser. With it, users can view video from any Ethernet connected GE Interlogix Triplex or Simplex DVMRe with software version 4.11 or above. Pictures are displayed in both single- and multi-camera formats. With GE Interlogix WaveReader software, users can also remotely control PTZ units connected to the DVMRe Simplex from their PCs. "Almost anything done with our keypad controllers can now be done with WaveReader and a remote PC," says Nicholson.
GE Interlogix Video Systems Group manufactures a range of closed-circuit television (CCTV) and digital video storage equipment for security and safety applications.
