New from Checkpoint Systems: a visitor counting system, StoreCount, described as an off-the-shelf plug and play system that helps retailers to measure and identify visitor trends over time.
This data enables management to plan in-store operations more effectively, the product firm says.
“The retail industry is now more competitive than ever. Traders are looking to suppliers for new and innovative products that will lead to an improvement in their bottom-line, and that is where StoreCount can help. It falls under the ‘sell more’ category of our company tagline, as it helps retailers to better understand customers and tailor their service accordingly,” commented David Ivins, European Business Support Manager at Checkpoint Systems.
“With the StoreCount reports, rotas can be planned to ensure more staff are present at busier times, in-store promotions measured effectively as well as products matched to suit visitor needs. This will result in a rise in consumer satisfaction, increased loyalty and most importantly, an upturn in sales for the retailer,” added Ivins.
Differently from other off-the-shelf solutions, StoreCount analyses the data captured, rather than simply providing a running total of visitors that must be logged manually and daily. It can monitor up to four entrances or exits as either a stand-alone or central system. Counting takes place in 15, 30 and 60-minute increments, and graphs can be output in daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly periods. Information can also be extracted in text format to meet reporting needs.
Specific equipment requirements to run StoreCount include a PC with Pentium II plus a 500 MHz processor or better, 256 MB RAM, an RS232 port, or LAN connection and a compatible operating system such as Microsoft Windows 98, ME, XP, or XP Professional with Internet Explorer.
StoreCount belongs to Checkpoint Systems’ family of visitor counting systems. It is the latest in a series of new product innovations for the company, which also developed sister product CheckCount, a web-hosted visitor counting system.
