Royal Malaysian Customs introduce TeraHertz detection systems

by msecadm4921

ThruVision Systems is pleased to announce that Royal Malaysian Customs has acquired its TS4 passive TeraHertz detection systems to detect contraband at Malaysia’s borders.

ThruVision Systems’ products are used by a number of customs authorities to detect contraband being concealed under passengers’ clothing. Examples of the contraband that can be detected include concealed narcotics, currency and food.

ThruVision’s TS4 is the world’s most advanced stand-off passive detection system, receiving natural TeraHertz energy from the person being screened in order to detect concealments. It is 100% safe for all people to be screened using the TS4 and as the TeraHertz images do not show high levels of body detail they respect the privacy of the passengers being screened.

Royal Malaysian Customs ordered ThruVision’s TS4 Mobile Solution which integrates the TS4 into a manoeuvrable case with a battery pack and operator laptop. The TS4 Mobile Solution enables customs authorities to easily position the case at a specific gate/location and immediately begin screening for contraband. In country support to Royal Malaysian Customs is provided by ThruVision Systems’ local partner, Nusa Seribumi SDN BHD.

“We are very pleased to be working with Royal Malaysian Customs” said Mr. Clive Beattie, ThruVision Systems’ Chief Executive Officer, adding “ThruVision’s TS4 Mobile Solution provides the detection capability and operational flexibility that Royal Malaysian Customs requires to help secure borders and protect communities. The increasing use of our products by customs authorities is a testament to the operational advantages offered by our systems”.
