Head of Advisory

by Mark Rowe

The geopolitical and security intelligence service Dragonfly has appointed Cvete Koneska as Head of Advisory. In a newly created role, she will be responsible for leading the firm’s global political and security advisory practice.

Cvete, pictured, has more than ten years’ experience in political risk analysis and consulting. Over the past decade, she has worked with businesses, investors and governments, helping them operate in complex environments. Cvete, who holds a DPhil in Politics from Oxford University, combines academic and policy expertise in post-conflict and foreign policy analysis to deliver bespoke risk solutions to clients, the firm reports.

Previously, she was a Research Director at sustainability data and analytics company Arabesque. She began her career as a risk analyst at Control Risks, moving on to work for intelligence and cyber security consultancy S-RM as Head of Risk Analysis.

Dragonfly was most recently featured in the February edition of Professional Security magazine for the firm’s annual risk assessment to clients. The firm’s global clients range from multinationals and banks to multilateral agencies and NGOs. As part of its wider intelligence offer, Dragonfly informs decision-makers with tailored security intelligence and political risk assessments, and provides insights to model risks and frame forecasts for individual clients’ strategic planning.

David Claridge, CEO of Dragonfly, said: “In the dynamic, complex and politicised business risk environment we find ourselves in, it is essential that alongside our subscribable products we have the capability to support our clients with their specific intelligence and analytical needs. We have seen great demand for advisory services and we have risen to the challenge of completing a wide variety of security and geopolitical risk assignments. As a result, we are strengthening our capability to deliver bespoke advice. Cvete’s substantial global expertise is a great addition to our strong team and I am confident she will be a driving force to further grow our advisory services.”

And Cvete Koneska said: “I look forward to working with my new colleagues to enhance Dragonfly’s capabilities, and with our clients to help them navigate the global risks they encounter. I am particularly interested in looking beyond the realms of core security risks such as terrorism, travel disruption and security incidents, providing leading global companies and organisations with customised and effective intelligence and advice to support their decision-making.”
