IFSEC detectors

by msecadm4921

Optex, the detector manufacturer, will be showing at IFSEC (Hall 5, Stand B20) its IP and wireless ready security intrusion detection as well as its high-end perimeter protection capabilities, including four new products.

Optex will preview the Smart Line Series of Quad technology, battery powered Active Beams – a perimeter product designed to operate with any leading wireless system, the makers say. Part of the Optex BoundaryGard family, the new Smart Line Series it’s claimed reduces the need for cabled infrastructure and is ideal in remote or difficult locations, delivering individual 100m areas of reliable detection.

Optex will also be showing its new Fiber SenSys FD322 – a fibre optic fence detector system for challenging outdoor sites. Suited the firm says to large industrial, retail and commercial premises, the fibre-optic sensing is it’s claimed unaffected by harsh external conditions including UV radiation, moisture, salt, or even lightning strikes.

The new PIE-1 Alarm IP Encoder enables all Optex detection devices – including the latest REDWALL, REDSCAN and Fiber SenSys detectors – to integrate with IP network video systems. The PIE-1 encoder provides the dual functions of Power over Ethernet (PoE) power delivery to remote Optex devices and conversion of alarm signals to an IP protocol for delivery to video management systems (VMS) or network video recorders (NVR).

Also on the stand will be a new indoor detector targeted at installers with smaller budgets, but without sacrificing the renowned reliability for detection and minimising false alarms.

To further reduce the need for engineer call-backs to a site the OPTEX SAVER grade 2 detector addresses many common issues and offers improved external seals, reducing the incidence of insect egress, digital based filtering and temperature compensation logic. The basic requirement of intruder detection has not been forgotten and the SAVER delivers through a dense 156 edge, 78-zone detection pattern which is supported by Optex’s patented Quad technology.
