960H internal dome

by Mark Rowe

New from Vista is the 960H VFD internal domes series. This varifocal dome provides HD quality resolution and offers the firm says improvement to the camera’s field of view.

The company says that the Sony 960H image sensor provides over 25 per cent improvement in recorded image quality when used with Vista’s 960H range of digital recorder (DVRs). The camera also continues to offer full backwards compatibility with non-960H DVRs, ensuring support for whatever analogue system may already be installed. The new 2MP camera lens has been upgraded to include a 2.8-12mm varifocal lens. Vista says this ensures quality images with a 60pc improvement to the camera’s field of view when compared to previous models.

The new colour-monochrome models are capable of supplying pictures down to 0.25Lux in colour when used with separate infra-red illuminators, while the day-night models provide video images in darkness. Each dome comes with a pre-wired 850mm cable long enough to feed through brackets, ceilings and wall cavities, with the option of having an inline passive UTP balun which allows images to be carried over structured cabling in buildings.

The all-in-one design the makers say is for internal retail, office and education as a discreet camera that can be mounted on the ceilings or walls.

Mark Pritchard, Divisional Director of Vista, says: “The VFD is one of our popular dome cameras. This latest generation highlights Vista’s commitment to innovation, providing increased image quality for live and, more importantly, recorded images, whilst offering continued support for legacy products already in the market place”.
