Custom Consoles at IFSEC

by Mark Rowe

Custom Consoles returns to IFSEC, the exhibition from Tuesday June 17 to Thursday 19 at the London ExCel. The company’s latest SteelBase security and process control furniture and Media Wall modular video mounting system will be on show. Representatives manning the stand will include Managing Director Neil Reed and Sales Manager Gary Fuller.

Gary Fuller says: “Custom Consoles furniture is used across a wide sector of the security market, including air traffic control, airport security, emergency response centres, road traffic monitoring and public-area surveillance. Clients appreciate the strength, ergonomic excellence and modern styling of our desks and storage furniture. They are also aware that we lead the market in terms of design innovation, sometimes copied but never surpassed by our competitors. A key factor in Custom Consoles’ success is careful attention to details such as cable management, ventilation and equipment access. We will also be showing examples of the Ergotron range of user-adjustable flat-panel monitor display supports and a KAB controller chair.”

SteelBase

Custom Consoles’ SteelBase is a range of technical desks which can be configured to provide an ergonomically working environment for any size of control room, the Leighton Buzzard-based company says. SteelBase desks are built of MDF on 19 inch steel base frames with powder-coated textured-grey vertical panels. SteelBase desktops are surfaced in a choice of hard-wearing laminate, marmoleum pr Trespa. Other design features of the range include hinged removable access doors, 19-inch equipment racking, sliding equipment trays, heavy cable management, PC sliding mounts, power distribution and data panels, and variable-speed ventilation fans.

SteelBase desks can be specified for single or multi operator rooms. Worktops can be rectangular or curved, including angled or curved corners and optional curved-front-profile side panels. All elements of the desks are guaranteed against component failure for five years of normal use. SteelBase has been tested by FIRA and certified to conform to ISO9241 part 5, ISO11064 Part 4, EN527 Part 1, 2 and 3.

Media Wall

Media Wall is a multi-screen video display mounting system. The latest version features narrower front-to-back depth, reduced from 600 to 500 millimetres. Like its predecessor, the new Media Wall is fully self-supporting and retains the option of adding coupling brackets to the studio wall. Freely adjustable horizontal and vertical screen spacing allows individual flat-panel screens to be positioned so that their edges meet exactly. Cable management within Media Wall is now along ducts with finger-trunking slots.
