Contractor hails ACS score

by Mark Rowe

The contractor Ward Security reports that it remains amongst the top 2pc of approved security providers in the UK after achieving a score of 167 out of 174 in an independent audit on behalf of the Security Industry Authority (SIA) – the regulating body of the private security industry in the UK – as part of its Approved Contractor scheme (ACS).

The external assessing body Chamber Certification Assessment Service Ltd (CCAS) carried out a combined annual assessment of Ward during February 2016 that included a reverification assessment for the SIA Approved Contractor Scheme for Security Guarding, Door Supervision, CCTV and Keyholding sectors, as well as a surveillance audit for ISO9001:2008 (Quality), and for BS18001:2007 (Occupational Health & Safety). Auditors visited Ward Security’s Rochester and London offices, as well as the company’s control room and thirteen customer sites across the UK, conducting interviews with Ward Security management and employees, and eight customers.

Nikhil Kamboj, Compliance Director at Ward said: “While the company continues to grow in a difficult marketplace, it is essential that we can maintain the standards that our reputation is built upon. This excellent report proves that we are managing to keep those standards high in parallel with our business growth to ensure all of our internal and customer facing systems are robust. This is no mean feat, and we are proud of our achievement.”

Kevin added: “2015/16 has been a challenging time for Ward Security with management restructuring, changes to processes and the incorporation of new leading edge technology to improve the service delivered. Yet thanks to the combined efforts of our management team, compliance department and employees across the business, we have managed these changes seamlessly. We have the structure and processes in place to better service our existing customers, as well as pursue further business growth.”
