Quality first for Sodexo

by Mark Rowe

Sodexo, the multi-national services company, reports that it’s the first FM company in the UK and Ireland to receive the ANSI/ASIS PSC.1-2012 (Quality Assurance Management System for Quality of Private Security Services). That covers the planning, support, management and delivery of security services at the company’s head office in Holborn, central London.

Over the last year Sodexo has worked with MSS Global, a UKAS accredited certification body, to achieve this accreditation for its London head office. The contractor adds that the assessment covered its security service from top management to the physical delivery on site and included audit visits on three occasions, based on what the contract firm calls the ‘Plan-Do-Check-Act’ approach.

The standard, launched in the UK at the end of 2012, establishes an auditable mechanism for private security service companies to show commitment, conformance, and accountability to the principles as outlined in the International Code of Conduct (ICoC) for Private Security Service Providers and best practices of the Montreux Document.

Simon Pears, pictured, global security director, Sodexo said: “We are extremely pleased with our achievement in gaining this valued quality assurance accreditation. This helps Sodexo as a global company provide our clients with the reassurance they need that the security services we offer are of the highest standard. We believe this truly positions us as a leader in the field of security services provision for our clients globally.”

And Tony Chattin, managing director, MSS Global said: “Following a thorough assessment of Sodexo’s security management approach at its London head office, certification to this ground-breaking standard should help provide their clients with credible assurance of the security management quality and control in place to deliver effective support.”
