Magenta Security Services was among winners at the Security and Fire Excellence Awards 2024, for the second consecutive year. It took the “Security or Fire Sustainability Champion” award.
The ceremony on London’s Park Lane heard of west London-based Magenta’s sustainability initiatives and dedication to eco-friendly practices. Abbey Petkar, Managing Director of Magenta Security Services, is pictured centre. He said afterwards: “Winning this award for the second-year running is an incredible achievement. It underscores our unwavering commitment to sustainability and reflects the transformative steps we have taken to reduce our environmental impact while inspiring our industry peers to adopt greener practices. This honour strengthens our resolve to lead by example and continue setting new sustainability standards.”
Magenta’s achievements include: carbon zero status in 2022, years ahead of schedule; transitioning its vehicle fleet to electric and installing solar-powered charging stations; investments in energy-efficient infrastructure, reducing energy consumption by 75 per cent; championing a paperless workplace, saving the equivalent of over 150 trees a year; engaging in industry forums, contributing to global sustainability conversations, and taking initiatives like the Carbon Database Initiative (CaDI) for transparency in emissions reporting.
The judging panel applauded the guarding firm’s sustainability strategy, which goes beyond operations to influence supply chains, engage communities, and foster collaboration within the industry.
Petkar added: “Sustainability is more than a corporate responsibility for us; it is integral to who we are and how we operate. We are not just protecting today’s world but actively shaping a sustainable future.”
