The guarding contractor Ward Security has added to its board by appointing James McKechnie, pictured, as Non-Executive Director.

McKechnie’s CV includes Senior Managing Director roles with Hill Samuel Bank, Union Bank of Switzerland and Deutsche Bank. His early business career was in the petrochemical industry (Europe and Africa) with roles in commercial and real estate. He assumed his first role in the City in 1986 when he joined Security Pacific Hoare Govett as European Head of Property Services.

David Ward, Managing Director of Ward Security said: “We are very excited to have James join us and we look forward to his contribution as we implement plans for further growth of Ward Security. 2015 will be an important year for the company and James’ experience will be crucial in the ongoing development of the business. James’ remit is to help identify and implement the strategic direction of the business and we are confident that this will be a year that sees Ward Security not only strengthening its position as a leading supplier of security services, but broadening the scope and core services of the business.”

McKechnie is a former professional footballer. He said: “Ward Security is a highly respected company within the UK security industry and is widely recognised as a key player in the ongoing evolution of security services. The company is not content to rest on its laurels and has a clear vision for the future of both its own business as well as the shape of the security offer. These are very exciting times to join Ward Security and the ambition, professionalism and team spirit have impressed me. I look forward to working with the team to take Ward Security to the next level.”
