1080p dome

by Mark Rowe

As part of Vista’s VK2 IP range, the VK2-1080PTZ dome uses High Definition 1080p technology to provide broadcast quality video. That plus a 20:1 optical zoom lens, allows users to monitor large areas with a single camera, the makers say.

H.264 video compression means that images can be delivered for live or recorded viewing, with it is claimed minimal network impact. The camera also features PoE (Power over Ethernet) negating the need for local power, saving time and money on installations, the company adds.

The camera can deliver up to four separate video streams which are individually configurable, allowing a high resolution stream to be recorded while others can be used for live viewing or viewing via a mobile.

Onboard SD card support means video can be recorded locally on event, including the option to record video to the onboard SD card if the network fails.

The product is ONVIF compatible; the camera can be used with a range of video management systems and network video recorders that support the ONVIF standard including Vista’s own VK2 ranges.

Brackets and housings are available to allow the camera to be mounted internally or externally. The ceiling mount bracket means the camera can be installed discreetly in offices and reception areas, while the external housing is for warehouse, perimeter or car parks.

Features include:
• Full HD 1080p resolution for scene detail
• 20:1 zoom lens with continuous rotation PTZ control
• Power via the network for simplified installation
• ONVIF compliant for integration with third party devices
• True day/night operation for continuous recording

As with the rest of the VK2 range, the VK2-1080PTZ is supplied with its own viewing and recording software, free, and is compatible with the VK2 network recorders, as well as other industry standard IP front end software packages.

Mark Pritchard, Divisional Director – Vista, says: “The VK2-1080PTZ is ideal for customers that require crystal-clear coverage, even at longer distances. The free viewing and recording software is an extremely powerful tool for users, and the Vista Apps ensure that mobile viewing is available for both Android and Apple devices.”
