NVR launch

by Mark Rowe

The Quantum NVR, described as a network video recorder (NVR) with the look and feel of a digital video recorder (DVR) has been launched by Vista. The Quantum NVR provides full HD 1080p recording with up to 12TB of internal storage. Auto discovery and IP address setting of VK2 cameras makes the unit it is claimed quick and simple to set up.

The NVR works with all Vista VK2 cameras and comes with free QCMS software that can communicate with any QNVR or H.264 Quantum DVR; for providing hybrid systems, the firm says. The unit can also be controlled via the VKBD4 joystick keyboard for remote operation and fluid dome control.

Designed to look and feel like a standard Quantum DVR, the Quantum NVR helps installers and end users simplify the switch from analogue to IP, according to the company. Vista says that the product is particularly relevant for estates using Quantum DVRs that want to move to an IP based system.

Features:

• Full HD recording for 1080p images
• Simplified migration of analogue systems to IP
• stream switching
• Auto discovery and IP address setting of VK2 cameras
• Operates like the Quantum DVR

Mark Pritchard, Divisional Director – Vista, says: “The aim of the Quantum NVR was to simplify the transition from analogue to IP at every level. The Quantum DVR is extremely popular in the marketplace and its operating system is something of a standard. The new NVR mimics this system, reducing training requirements, easing the way into IP for many of our customers.”
