Guarding

Scots office

Appollo Security Services Ltd is opening a new office in central Scotland to service businesses based in the country. Since it began in 2006, the guarding company has operated a UK-wide service from its Birmingham headquarters. The firm says this move north will allow it to provide tailored services for the Scottish market.

This follows several trial contracts, which according to the firm highlighted that many businesses providing security services in the region were not addressing serious employment issues, such as racism, pay and working hours.

The new office will be run by a management team led by Ray McWalter. Customers include Bellway Homes and Vinci Construction.

Colin Simmonds, Managing Director of Appollo Security Services Ltd, said: “Our credentials in mainland England are second to none and in just six years we have become a market leader in a variety of industries. Opening our new office will move us a step closer to becoming a major player throughout the UK in all aspects of security in any sector.”

Appollo is a privately owned company, which initially offered services to the leisure industry. Since 2006, the business has moved into providing security to the construction and retail sectors.
