Integrated Systems

Smart Cities 2017

by Mark Rowe

Security solutions in connected cities are among the topics at the Smart Cities 2017 conference. The two-day event will feature speakers from around the UK who will discuss the challenges and opportunities.

Smart Cities UK 2017 runs at Stamford Bridge, the west London home of Chelsea FC on February 1 and 2. It’s looking at what’s known as “smart transformation” across cities. Those systems vital to a smart city include security, energy, transport, waste and critical national infrastructure.

Colin Leatherbarrow, product solutions director at Chubb, pictured, will speak about the need for closer collaboration between the public and private sectors, to protect people and business. He will also discuss how enhanced security helps residents better enjoy everything the urban space has to offer, such as culture, national heritage, entertainment and commerce.

“With the speed of new technology being adopted, ‘connected’ fire and security solutions have a place in any smart city where digital solutions are used to increase the efficiency of traditional networked services,” says Leatherbarrow.
