Corporate fraud morning

by msecadm4921

November 22 is the date and the University of Newcastle the venue for a Fraud Advisory Panel morning briefing on corporate fraud.

The event organisers make the point that corporate fraud is pervasive, but much still goes unreported to the regulatory and criminal justice authorities. The most recent fraud estimate from the National Fraud Authority has been well publicised and is stark: the private sector is thought to have lost over £45 billion, with larger enterprises accounting for more than half of it. But even such worryingly large totals are only estimates. Much fraud still goes completely undetected and plenty more is discovered but never reported.

This free breakfast masterclass held with the North East Fraud Forum (NEFF) will seek to cover how incorporation is being used by the unscrupulous to prey upon businesses, and what businesses – small and large – can do to report fraud and take the necessary steps to protect themselves. Chairing the event is Alan Brown of NEFF.
