Manchester event anniversary

by Mark Rowe

Exhibition space is now available to book for the annual spring Manchester security exhibition and conference, which sees its 20th anniversary this year.

Organised by the British Security Industry Association (BSIA) with the Manchester City Centre Crime Prevention Panel and Greater Manchester Police, the event is aimed at the North West’s wider business community, with attendees previously including major retailers, local authorities and entertainment venues.

Free to attend for delegates, the event, sponsored by Associated Security Solutions Ltd, will run at the same venue as in 2013, the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester city centre on Thursday, March 6, and features a range of speakers including Tony Lloyd, Police and Crime Commissioner for Greater Manchester, speaking about his role and its links with local businesses.

Also invited to speak: Chief Superintendent Nick Adderley, of Greater Manchester Police, discussing the challenges and changes facing the city force, and Maxine Fraser, National Operations Director of Stirling-based Retailers Against Crime, providing an overview of the national organisation’s work in reducing crime through partnership working.

Last year’s event attracted a record number of over 200 delegates, with attendees including representatives of well-known city-centre retailers Primark, Harvey Nichols, Selfridges and Urban Outfitters, as well as other organisations including insurers, healthcare practitioners and local authorities. In a post-event survey, organisers add, 95pc of respondents felt that participating in the exhibition represented value for money for their business, while rating the quality of attendees as good or excellent.

For security companies wishing to showcase their products and services to a range of North-West based businesses, as well as representatives from local police forces, stand space is available from £695 plus VAT.

Exhibitors can book stand space by downloading a booking form from the BSIA’s website: http://bit.ly/KvcUlV. Or, for more information email the BSIA’s Events Manager, Christine Brooks, on [email protected] or call 0845 389 0743.
