It’s June already, these months just keep slipping by, it’ll soon be Christmas!?
Here we go then, and it seems that this month everyone is getting those big sales jobs! But what amazes me, and it always has to be honest, is what different titles we can give ourselves when, at the end of the day, it’s all just sales! Let’s take a look at what I mean.
Starting with Simon Green, now you will recall Simon left the industry for a while but as we all know you can’t stay away so I am delighted to say he is back as manager for end customers and global partners, at Axis Communications; welcome home Simon. George Georghiou has left Eagle Eye Networks and moved over as the regional marketing manager for Milestone Systems. Talking of Eagle Eye, I hear that Dave Barr has also left them, I wonder where he is heading off to; to be fair I do know but it is still a secret; so watch this space next month.
Bradley Kenyon has joined Vivotek as a BDM (Business Development Manager). Mark Weatherley has started as the Sales Director for IDEMIA, now Mark spent ten years over at Avigilon and before that spent four years with Motorola, but did you know he used to be a health and fitness manager? I’m sure there is a story to tell there. Ant Hebblethwaite has been promoted and is Sales Director for DSOC yes, that’s short for Doncaster Security Operations Centre, they do monitoring, an area he knows a lot about having been with the company almost five years now, you don’t need me to tell you where. Did you know there is a connection here between Ant and the Gallaghers? Ask him!
Helen Mason also becomes a Senior Director for EMEA Sales at Honycomb.io. Alan Hickson has joined NetVu as Chief Operations Officer working with Mike Newton. Alan has been in the industry for a while but has been on the other side, that is to say he comes from the installation side so yep he’s one of those poachers turned gamekeepers. Jason Patton becomes Head of Sales at Nimbus. Mike Burgess takes up the role as General Sales Manager for Takex; I was once offered a job with them, but that was many years ago.
Peter Kaye MA CSyP FSyI (no, not that one!) becomes the new vice President Business Development EU-UAE-Asia at Secours.AI. We can bet he is going to get those air miles in! The lovely gentleman that is Jason Bezuidenhout has become the head of sales at Dragonfruit AI. Ben Maggs starts as the new Sales Director (Fire and Security) at Frocester Group. Guy Combrinck has become head of sales for the UK and Ireland at Reconeyez, they seem to be having a push because as you may know Andy Keeley has also joined them as Marketing Director and Mike Walmsley as Reconeyez National Sales Manager for France and French-speaking territories, what a team!
Alison Benson becomes the Regional Sales Director of Enterprise and Corporate over at Motorola Solutions. Matt Rogers starts as the new Managing Director at Nachi Wagon; you remember Matt, he was over at Eurostar! Stuart Maxwell starts as the Commercial Director for Pointer, shall I see you and your team at our Security TWENTY (ST25) show in Glasgow I wonder, I hope so! Dominic Brunning who spent a whopping 23 years over at Axis, left and went to Milestone remember? He has just been appointed as the new Director of Strategic Alliances EMEA Mobile for HID Global; that sounds like a big job.
Talking big jobs as if what I have not already mentioned isn’t enough; then what about Alan O’Connor he has started a new position as Global Operations Director for Chubb, retaining his role as MD for Frontline (the business Chubb bought some years ago), meaning he will continue to look after major projects but his new position means he needs to support the Global Business in key verticals, another one that is going to get his air miles up I reckon. Kevin Sage starts a new position as Strategic Account Director for Wills Security Services. Jeff Snelling starts also in a new position as Director at ProSync FM Consulting. And another big job goes to Jim McFedries who starts as Chief Business Development Officer at Assist Security Group. QCC Global, the technical counter-surveillance measures people who are not to be confused with QCIC have appointed Pete Hoddinott as their new MD. Pete has 35 years of experience in the defence, cyber and security sectors so just the man for the job.
Gordon Thomas, where have you been hiding Gordon? Oh yeah; Johnson Controls and Honeywell of course, anyway he has joined Eaton as a BDM for UK and Ireland. I used to work with Gordon over at Baxall, remember them? now we are going back some years. The voice alarm and emergency audio and alarm systems business Vox Ignis recently appointed Richard Gray as their new Regional Sales Manager for the south of the UK.
Suprema seem to have promoted all their team with new titles, by that I mean Gareth Goodall is now Head of sales, Cloe Snell is the key accounts manager, while Sean Grigg starts as New Business and Specification Manager. Well done to you guys, nice to see people rewarded for doing a great job.
Charity
Richard Parnell tells me that on May 9 he was part for a team completing a challenge of a cycle, mountain climb and canoe across Snowdonia, raising funds for a cancer support charity, Marie Curie and in the memory of Tom Filce, a well known young man in our industry that was taken from us far too young. New businesses
Debbie Carter has started up a new business working for herself called DC Secure link. Basically she is going to become a representative for various companies, Videcon being one, and she tells me she has already lined up a few customers. Sounds like it was the right move for her. Also starting her new business is Sarah Jane Cork, who has started a business consultant type business called Milieu Associates, Sarah can help small to medium enterprises help shape the future of their businesses, she has lots of ideas to share. And here they are together!
