Business Development Manager – Fire & Security

Location – London & Home Counties | Hybrid Salary– Up to £50,000 Basic DOE | £70,000 OTE | Uncapped CommissionType – PermanentStart – Immediate

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join a growing Fire & Security business, driving new business growth across London and the Home Counties.

This is a key commercial role, responsible for identifying new opportunities, building relationships with customers and securing high-value installation projects and ongoing service contracts.

You’ll take ownership of your region and manage the complete sales cycle, from initial prospecting and opportunity development through to negotiation, contract award and mobilisation. You’ll have the autonomy to develop your pipeline while being supported by an experienced leadership team and a strong technical delivery function.

What you’ll do

  • Identify, target and convert new business opportunities across the Fire & Security sector.
  • Develop strong relationships with end users, contractors, consultants and key decision makers.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through to contract mobilisation.
  • Deliver tailored proposals and presentations aligned with customer requirements.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements and secure profitable contracts.
  • Attend customer sites to complete surveys and support solution design.
  • Build and maintain an accurate sales pipeline, forecasting activity and opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities to grow existing relationships through cross-selling additional services.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure a smooth customer journey.

About you

  • You are a commercially driven Business Development Manager with proven experience within the Fire & Security industry.
  • You will have a strong track record of winning new business, developing customer relationships and selling both installation projects and recurring service contracts.
  • You will be confident engaging with customers across both public and private sectors, comfortable managing your own sales activity and motivated by achieving growth and commercial success.

Key skills & experience:

  • 5+ years’ experience within Fire & Security sales.
  • Proven success selling electronic security and/or fire system solutions.
  • Experience securing installation projects and service & maintenance contracts.
  • Strong understanding of the full sales process from opportunity creation to completion.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong pipeline management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously while collaborating with wider teams.

Working pattern

  • 37.5 hours per week (08:30–17:00)
