Business Development Manager – Fire & Security
West Midlands (with wider UK coverage as required)

We are representing a well-established and expanding fire and security provider in the West Midlands, forming part of a larger national group delivering integrated life safety and security solutions. The business supports commercial, industrial and facilities management clients with fire alarms, CCTV, access control, intruder detection and compliance-led maintenance services.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused Business Development Manager seeking strong earning potential and long-term progression within a growing sector.


The Role

Our client is looking to appoint a driven and ambitious sales professional to support continued growth across the region.

The role will be structured approximately 70% new business development and 30% account management, ensuring both new revenue generation and the continued development of existing client relationships.

The successful candidate will focus on securing new service contracts, remedial works and installation projects, working primarily across the Greater West Midlands area, whilst also supporting opportunities nationwide where required.


Key Responsibilities

  • Generate new business across service contracts, remedial works and system installations

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of existing accounts (approx. 30% of role)

  • Identify and secure new opportunities within commercial, industrial and FM sectors

  • Develop tailored proposals across fire alarms, CCTV, access control and intruder detection systems

  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through to negotiation and contract award

  • Build strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders

  • Deliver technical and commercial presentations

  • Work closely with internal design and operations teams to ensure smooth delivery

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards including BS5839 and FIA guidance

  • Attend industry events and networking opportunities to drive lead generation


Experience & Skills Required

  • Minimum three years’ sales experience within the fire and/or security industry

  • Proven track record in new business generation

  • Strong understanding of compliance-led services and relevant standards

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and discuss system design solutions

  • Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills

  • Target-driven and commercially astute

  • Full UK driving licence


Package & Benefits

  • Basic salary £38,000–£45,000

  • Uncapped commission structure (OTE £80,000–£100,000+)

  • Company car or car allowance

  • Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm

  • 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays (option to purchase up to 5 additional days)
