Commissioning Engineer – Security Systems (Southend-on-Sea and East London)
Location: East London – Southend-on-SeaSalary: £45,000-£50,000 ( depending on experience )Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Are you an experienced Commissioning Engineer with a background in CCTV, intruder detection, and access control systems? We’re seeking a skilled and motivated professional to join a leading UK security systems provider, delivering high-end solutions for blue-chip clients across London and the South.
The Role:
As a Commissioning Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the commissioning, configuration, and troubleshooting of a wide range of security systems. You’ll work closely with project and service teams to ensure smooth system delivery, testing, and client handovers. This is an exciting opportunity to further develop your technical expertise and be part of a team delivering major integrated security projects.
Key Responsibilities:

Commission and configure CCTV, intruder detection, and access control systems.

Diagnose and resolve faults using advanced technical knowledge.

Carry out system programming, testing, and final documentation for handover.

Provide technical support to engineering and project teams.

Deliver end-user training where required.

Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.

Maintain accurate records and reports for all commissioned systems.
About You:
-
Proven experience commissioning CCTV, access control, and intruder alarm systems.

Knowledge of one or more of the following: Paxton, Hikvision, Gallagher, TDSI, Flir, Dahua, or Commend.

Strong understanding of site-based Health & Safety procedures.

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

CSCS/ECS card, PASMA and IPAF certifications preferred.

Full UK driving licence (no endorsements).

Proactive, professional, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
