Commissioning Engineer – Security Systems (Southend-on-Sea and London)
Location: London / Southend-on-SeaSalary: £45,000–£50,000 (depending on experience)Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Are you an experienced Commissioning Engineer with a background in CCTV, intruder detection, and access control systems? Join a UK-based security technology company delivering advanced, end-to-end security solutions for high-profile clients including hospitals, universities, ports, and corporate buildings.
The Role
As a Commissioning Engineer, you’ll be responsible for commissioning, configuring, and troubleshooting a wide range of security systems. You’ll work closely with project and service teams to ensure smooth delivery, testing, and client handovers. This role provides the chance to develop your technical expertise while working on major integrated security projects.
Key Responsibilities:

Commission and configure CCTV, intruder detection, and access control systems.

Diagnose and resolve faults using advanced technical knowledge.

Carry out system programming, testing, and final documentation for handover.

Provide technical support to engineering and project teams.

Deliver end-user training where required.

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.

Maintain accurate records and reports for all commissioned systems.
About You:

Proven experience commissioning CCTV, access control, and intruder alarm systems.

Familiarity with Paxton, Hikvision, Gallagher, TDSI, FLIR, Dahua, or Commend.

Strong understanding of site-based Health & Safety procedures.

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

CSCS/ECS card, PASMA, and IPAF certifications preferred.

Full UK driving licence (no endorsements).

Proactive, professional, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
