Role: Fire Alarm Commissioning Engineer
Location: Leeds
Salary: £36,000 to £44,000 per annum
We are seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Commissioning Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for commissioning, testing, and handover of fire alarm systems across commercial and industrial sites, ensuring full compliance with BS5839 standards and client specifications.
Responsibilities:

Commission and test fire alarm systems to BS5839 and relevant standards.

Carry out system programming, cause & effect testing, and fault rectification.

Prepare commissioning and handover documentation, including test certificates and reports.

Liaise with clients, site managers, and installation teams to ensure smooth project delivery.

Provide technical support and guidance to installation engineers as required.

Conduct site surveys and assist with small works or remedial upgrades when necessary.
Experience and Certifications Required:

Minimum 5 years’ experience commissioning fire alarm systems.

Strong knowledge of BS5839 and fire system design principles.

Experience working with leading fire alarm manufacturers (e.g. Advanced, Gent, Kentec, Morley, or Notifier).

Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic abilities.

Strong communication and client-facing skills.

Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
