Lead Fire and Security Service & Maintenance Engineer | £55,000 basic | London / near M25

Role Summary
The company is looking to appoint a Lead Fire and Security Service & Maintenance Engineer to head up its second service team. This role combines hands-on servicing, fault finding, and maintenance responsibilities with team leadership duties, ensuring clients receive a consistently high level of technical support and customer service. The successful candidate will act as a senior technical resource, supporting engineers in resolving complex system issues while maintaining compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the second service and maintenance team, ensuring high standards of performance and customer service
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive service visits across Fire, Intruder, CCTV and Access Control systems
  • Diagnose and rectify faults efficiently while minimising system downtime for clients
  • Act as the main technical authority for complex service issues, supporting engineers with troubleshooting and problem resolution
  • Ensure all systems are maintained in accordance with British Standards, manufacturer recommendations, and company procedures
  • Complete detailed service reports, compliance documentation, and maintenance records
  • Liaise with clients to provide technical advice and recommendations for system improvements or remedial works
  • Work closely with service coordinators and management teams to ensure effective scheduling and delivery of maintenance contracts
  • Maintain excellent client relationships and represent the business professionally on site
  • Drive quality standards, compliance, and continuous improvement across the service department

Key Requirements / Skills
Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Fire and Security service and maintenance
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic experience across multiple systems
  • Proven experience leading or supervising engineers in a service environment
  • Experience servicing and maintaining Fire, Intruder, CCTV and Access Control systems

Technical knowledge of systems including:

  • Intruder: Texecom
  • Access Control: Paxton, PAC
  • Door Entry: BPT, Fermax
  • CCTV: Hikvision, IP and analogue systems, NVRs and DVRs
  • Fire: Analogue and networked systems

Must also have:

  • Strong problem-solving and customer-facing skills
  • IPAF certification
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to work across London and the South East

Desirable Requirements

  • Additional fire or security qualifications or manufacturer training
  • Experience within commercial and high-end residential environments
  • Previous experience leading or developing service teams
  • Knowledge of maintenance contract delivery and compliance requirements
