Lead Fire and Security Install and Commissioning Engineer | £55,000 | London/M25
Company Overview
A long-established Fire and Security installation and maintenance provider with over 40 years of industry experience is expanding its engineering team. Operating across London and the South East, the business delivers high-quality solutions to commercial and high-end residential clients and forms part of a wider fire and security group.
Role Summary
Due to continued project growth, the company is looking to appoint a Lead Fire and Security Install and Commissioning Engineer to head up its second installation team. This role combines hands-on installation and commissioning with team leadership responsibilities, ensuring projects are delivered to a high technical and professional standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the second installation team on site, ensuring high standards of workmanship
- Install and commission Fire, Intruder, CCTV and Access Control systems
- Take ownership of projects from installation through to full commissioning and handover
- Act as the main technical authority on site, supporting engineers with troubleshooting and problem solving
- Ensure all systems are commissioned in line with design specifications and industry standards
- Work closely with project managers and internal teams to deliver projects on time and within scope
- Complete commissioning documentation, certification, and compliance records
- Maintain excellent client interaction and represent the business professionally on site
- Drive quality control and ensure adherence to British Standards and company procedures
Key Requirements / Skills
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Fire and Security installation
- Strong commissioning experience across multiple systems
- Proven experience leading or supervising engineers on site
- Experience across Fire, Intruder, CCTV and Access Control systems
- Technical knowledge of systems including:
- Intruder: Texecom
- Access Control: Paxton, PAC
- Door Entry: BPT, Fermax
- CCTV: Hikvision, IP and analogue systems, NVRs and DVRs
- Fire: Analogue and networked systems
- Strong fault finding and problem-solving skills
- IPAF certification
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to work across London and the South East
Desirable Requirements
- Additional fire or security qualifications or manufacturer training
- Experience within commercial and high-end residential environments
- Previous experience setting up or leading new teams
