Multi-Skilled Service Engineer | Nationwide (Ideally Midlands based) | Up to £50,000 + Company Car or Van + Benefits

This is a predominantly service-focused role with some small works involved, supporting a wide range of industrial and warehousing customers across the UK. The business is currently in a strong growth phase, with significant new contracts close to being finalised, making this an excellent time to join and play a key role in the company’s expansion.

You’ll be working across a variety of fire and electronic security systems, carrying out servicing, fault finding, maintenance and minor installations while delivering a high standard of customer service.

The Role

As a Multi-Skilled Service Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Servicing, maintaining and fault-finding on fire and electronic security systems.
  • Completing small works and remedial upgrades where required.
  • Diagnosing faults across multiple disciplines including fire alarms, access control and CCTV.
  • Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with industry standards and client SLAs.
  • Producing accurate service reports and documentation.
  • Building strong relationships with customers on site.
  • Representing the business professionally while working independently across multiple locations.

Systems

Experience with one or more of the following is desirable:

  • Fire Alarm Systems (Advanced knowledge beneficial)
  • CCTV
  • Access Control
  • Intruder Alarms

Manufacturer-specific experience is not essential. Full product training will be provided for the right engineer.

About You

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Experience servicing fire and/or electronic security systems.
  • A multi-skilled background across several disciplines rather than specialising in just one.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic abilities.
  • Excellent customer-facing and communication skills.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • A flexible approach to nationwide travel.

Engineers with strong experience in either fire or security who are keen to develop their skills across the other disciplines are encouraged to apply.

Travel

This is a field-based role covering sites across the UK.

Typical areas include:

  • Northampton
  • Essex
  • Kent
  • Midlands
  • London
  • Chesterfield and surrounding areas

There may be occasional overnight stays depending on workload, although regular staying away is not expected.

Current call-out requirements are minimal (approximately once per month), with a formal rota expected to be introduced as the business continues to grow.
