Security Systems Auditor
Location: Cumbria, North West area up to the Scottish Borders ideally.
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: Competitive salary £40k – £45k basic plus benefits including up to 10% pension and company car/allowance.

Our client is the leading UKAS-accredited third-party certification body for the UK and Ireland security and fire safety sectors. They’re seeking an experienced Systems Auditor to deliver high-quality audits and support their mission to raise industry standards. Position Overview
As a Systems Auditor, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring organisations meet rigorous quality management and technical standards. You’ll inspect security system installations, interview senior management, and audit quality management systems across a diverse client portfolio. Your work directly contributes to raising safety and security standards across the sector, protecting businesses and people. Based primarily from home, you’ll manage your own diary, prepare detailed visit plans, review corrective actions, and produce comprehensive audit reports that guide clients towards compliance and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities

Deliver third-party audits against quality management and technical standards

Inspect security system installations and assess compliance with regulations

Interview senior management and key personnel during audit visits

Manage a client portfolio, scheduling audits and maintaining positive relationships

Prepare detailed visit plans and audit documentation prior to site visits

Review corrective actions raised during previous audits

Complete thorough audit reports and communicate findings to clients

Maintain accurate records and ensure audit quality and consistency
Requirements
Essential:
-
Engineering background in mechanical, electrical, or telecommunications disciplines
-
Experience in roles requiring high accuracy and quality management
-
Knowledge of technical standards, regulations, and compliance requirements

Strong client management and communication skills
-
Technically minded with analytical and problem-solving abilities
-
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
-
Five GCSEs including Maths and English

Articulate communicator, both written and verbal
Desirable:

HNC or equivalent qualification in a technical discipline

Management or supervisory experience
-
Experience in auditing or quality assurance roles
