Senior IT Technician (2nd/3rd Line Support)

Location: Bromsgrove + Travel (Client Sites) + Hybrid

Salary: £30,000/£40,000 + Benefits

Our client are looking for an IT technician to work on in our helpdesk based in Bromsgrove.
The successful engineer will interact with clients via telephone and email to resolve their IT related queries and visit customer sites for troubleshooting and project related work and installations.

Normal working hours are 8:30 to 5.30 4 days and usually one day a week 7.30am to 4pm

Initially the role will be office based 5 days a week with the possibility of some flexible working after this period.

Experience with the following technologies and platforms would be beneficial:

  • Networking Experience – Draytek Firewalls, WAPs, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, Ethernet.
  • Physical patching and cabling
  • Remote support
  • M365 Proficiency: O365 applications, Azure AD, Active Directory
  • Windows – Windows 10/11 & Windows Server 3/8/16/22, Office 2010 – 2016
  • MS InTune
  • GSuite
  • SMTP
  • Exclaimer
  • Sage
  • Sophos
  • Datto
  • Sharepoint
  • OneDrive
  • Remote machine management
  • Printers
  • Backup solutions – Veeam, ShadowControl, Image Manager
  • Web Security – Webroot, SentinelOne, and ThreatLocker

Skills

  • 2 years IT support and desktop support experience
  • Must be confident in speaking with customers by phone and in person and have good written communication skills.
  • Curious to get to the root of a problem with a desire to fix issues.
  • Able to effectively manage a workload of tickets.
  • The ability to keep in regular communication with customers until issues are resolved.
  • Must be able to document work and assist in adding to the business knowledge base.
  • Must have a clean licence and be comfortable commuting to the office regularly.
