4K resolution camera trials

by Mark Rowe

The Tyne and Wear-based security installer Universal Systems Solutions reports that it’s been working with their long standing vendor partner Sony Europe to address the challenge of surveillance in low light or darkness, by using the manufacturer’s VB770 4K resolution camera.

As a gold partner to Sony, Universal Systems Solutions have enjoyed a long technical and commercial relationship with the vendor, allowing them early access to evolving technologies. This enabled the company to be an early adopter of the technology and to undertake their own field trials.

Peter Hood – Business Development Manager for USS said: “Our approach is always to firstly test technology in live scenarios before suggesting a solution to a client. We also undertake client evaluations utilizing our own demo equipment when relevant. The initial reactions to our field test footage and subsequent client evaluations have all been very positive.”

Paul Grainge, Security Manager for PD Ports, said: “We were very impressed with the approach undertaken by Universal Systems Solutions and how the camera performed in a ‘real’ low light environment. As such we are investigating the best use of this technology within our existing security measures.”
