Crimestoppers offer murder case reward

by Mark Rowe

The 0800 crime-reporting line charity Crimestoppers is offering a reward of up to £5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for a Birmingham nightclub shooting. The attack was on Saturday, August 10, 2013 when Sylvester Koroma was shot at close range at a nightclub in Digbeth, Birmingham. He died from his injuries a week later.

The ‘Circo Loco’ dance/house music company held an event at The Rainbow Warehouse Complex over the weekend of August 9-11, 2013. Tickets purchased online brought in around 4,500 people to the event from all over the UK. Mr Koroma, from Leicester, was shot shortly before midnight. A large number of people would have witnessed the shooting and those involved.

Crimestoppers is offering a reward of up to £5,000 for information passed to the charity’s 0800 555 111 number that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for this crime.

Pauline Hadley, Regional Manager for Crimestoppers, said: “This crime has left a family totally devastated and desperate for answers. Sylvester was father to two children who need to know what happened to their dad. We are urging anyone with information to call Crimestoppers, our service is totally anonymous so no-one will ever know who you are.”

If you have any information on this incident – contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or through the anonymous online form at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
