Rick Mounfield steps down from ASC board

by Mark Rowe

After nearly two years of service as a Director of the Association of Security Consultants (ASC), Rick Mounfield is stepping down to pursue a new venture. Among his work for the ASC he led the largest Consec to date in 2024 (the annual conference of the ASC), growing its business groups into seminars, and heading the launch of its newsletter, The Sentinel.

Rick is to take a new professional endeavour with the launch of Consult Europe, alongside his directorship with Optimal Risk Group. As he mentioned at last week’s quarterly gathering of the ASC at the British Library in central London, he’s stepped down from his ASC responsibilities to avoid any potential conflict of interest, while allowing him to remain actively involved and contribute to the association in other ways.

Rick, pictured, remains an advocate and supporter of the association. He was chair of the Summer Seminar on September 24 and will likewise front Consec on Thursday, October 23, at Hinxton Hall, outside Cambridge.

ASC Chair, Gary Thomas, said “Rick has made a significant contribution during his time as a Director, strengthening the ASC’s profile, encouraging collaboration across the industry, and supporting the professional development of our members. The board and I wish him every success with his new venture, and we are pleased that he will remain closely involved with the Association.”

And Rick said “It has been a privilege to serve as a Director of the ASC. As I take on this journey with Consult Europe, I remain fully committed to supporting the Association and its members, and I look forward to contributing to the association’s ongoing success in new ways.”
