Rivals at NEC during IFSEC

by Mark Rowe

The organisers of a security event at the NEC taking the place of IFSEC next year are cheekily offering free car parking to those planning to go to Security Technology Live 2014 who attend IFSEC 2013.

IFSEC visitors next week will be able to pick up a free car parking voucher for 2014. The voucher can be redeemed at the Security Technology Live stand next to Wetherspoons in the NEC Piazza. Those not attending IFSEC will be able to claim their voucher online for a time at www.securitytechnologylive.com/freeparking

According to Clarion Events who run among other security and defence events Counter Terror Expo and DSEI, and who are arranging Security Technology Live to fill the gap left at the NEC by IFSEC moving to London ExCeL, the NEC has been the home of the security industry for the past 18 years and will continue to do so with Security Technology Live 2014.

According to Clarion the NEC is the best venue for the entire security channel industry. Stephen Richards, Venue Sales Director, The NEC, Birmingham said: “The extensive research we carried out with buyers in the security market showed that the NEC is easier to reach than other venues. This has been proved over the last 20 years with the security channel coming to the NEC each May to meet and do business. We look forward to welcoming the security industry meeting once again in May 2014 at Security Technology Live.

Clarion says that Security Technology Live staff will be at the NEC during IFSEC to meet visitors, exhibitors, media or trade associations to discuss the event in their hospitality suite next to Wetherspoons in the Piazza.

Security Technology Live will run at the NEC, Birmingham, from May 13 to 15, 2014.
