Women in Security awards (WiS)

by Mark Rowe

The 2014 Professional Security Magazine – Women in Security Awards (WiS) are now open. You can nominate towards the security profession’s dedicated awards that recognise and honour the accomplishments, value and contributions of women within the wider world of security. This is their third year; the first were presented to some acclaim at the ASIS 11th European Security Conference and Exhibition in April 2012.

In 2013 the awards were presented at the Ifsec dinner on the Monday night of the May show. Pictured left to right are Una Riley, event pioneer and organiser; and one of the 2013 winners, Adrienne Hall, the Seattle-based general manager of Microsoft.

Deadline for entries – as announced in the March print issue of Professional Security Magazine – is Friday, August 29, 2014. Visit the WIS part of the website for more details. Visit https://professionalsecurity.co.uk/wis/

Winners of the 2014 WiS awards will be announced at the Association of Security Consultants’ 20th annual conference, CONSEC, on Thursday, October 2, at the Marriott Hotel, Heathrow, west London.
